This book is in three parts. Firstly, it has traced the historical development of the formation of the Church of Christ in Africa (CCA) church. This was the first break-away faction of the then Church Missionary Society-CMS (currently, the Anglican Church of Kenya, ACK). CCA was among the earliest African Independent Churches (AICs) to in Kenya, having been registered in 1954. The book has discussed how issues developed within the then Fellowship wing of the East African Revival Movement that gave birth to the church.
Secondly, the book as delved into the life of the founder of the CCA church, Matthews Abednego Ajuoga. It has traced his early life, schooling and ministry training. His venture into the church ministry and leadership at the helm of the CCA church, as the founder archbishop, has been captured by the book. It has also documented about his illness and final demise.
Thirdly, the book has outlined the biography of the Habakkuk Onyango Abogno. A man who rose from a humble beginning in the CCA church and finally succeeded the founder archbishop of the CCA church. During his leadership at various levels of the church, Abogno faced various challenges, which the book has discussed into details. Most importantly, the book has brought of how he managed the leadership sucession of the CCA church, which apparently was smooth.
